Pelican Design partnered with Syroco-Fiskars, a leader in outdoor resin furniture
	Imagine it:
	Pelican Design was asked to create and develop a new classic wood collection  line series,  consisting of a chair, rocking chair, storage bench and a table

 

Create it: Extensive design research narrowed  the definition of “classic American wood look”.  Seating comfort parameters were developed for this style of chair, rocker, bench and table. Design concepts directed to  mass market appeal; perceptions, style, color, texture. Different injection molding resin  processes were explored to compare design and cost issues.

Justify it: Refine seating ergonomics making it comfortable for most people.  Refine design for appearance details and moldability. Our full scale study models evaluated comfort and appearance direction.  Resolve business issues; cost, molding issues, textures, color,  stacking, customer needs and shipping plans.
